The first trickles of info have begun to pour from PC Zone's Deus Ex 3 preview article, chiefly revealing that it's a prequel set in 2027 playing Adam Jensen.
Some Deus Ex fans are a little riled but Eidos affirm that it's still a "hybrid action/RPG just like the first game." Health is managed Call of Duty style apparently; auto-healing.
You'll be doing your rounds as Adam Jensen, private security officer, when suddenly a black-ops unit busts in and a ruckus ensues. Recently the Eidos Montreal community manager for the game has clarified some points to help fans out.
"Deus Ex 3 is indeed an RPG," the Eidos staffer writes to VE3D. "There is a skill system where you upgrade your character (Adam) based off experience points you earn and you can do the same thing with weapons."
"It's a game with a very detailed plot with numerous characters you interact with. The gameplay takes the form of a consequence-driven multi-path, multi-solution approach in a non-linear space," they continued.
One of the more notable gameplay mechanic changes is stealth and how it will be cover based and not light/shadow based anymore.
"Deus Ex 3's vision of the future sees holographic screens flicker atop ferries moving back and forth in front of the Shanghai skyline, now split into two layers with the rich on the top and the poor in perpetual twilight below," writes PC Zone magazine.
Deus Ex 3 is being released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC sometime to be announced.
