How do you get Complex Machinery in Dune: Awakening? There are at least a dozen essential crafting components you’ll need—not just to survive the harsh conditions of Arrakis, but to truly thrive, expand your base, and upgrade its utility equipment, enabling you to craft even better personal gear.
Complex Machinery is one of these critical components that you won’t be able to make yourself in Dune: Awakening. This guide will dive into where you can find, scavenge, and acquire Complex Machinery.
Where to find Complex Machinery
Search the Ironworks:
Ironworks are scattered across the Basin. These abandoned factories and processing plants are large and easy to spot. On the map, they’re marked with a symbol resembling a container holding three metal ingots.
These facilities will always have enemies both inside and nearby, though most won’t pose much of a threat—aside from the occasional shielded opponent. You’ll also need to watch out for environmental hazards like fire, which, unsurprisingly, is hot and will burn you.
You can find a lot of Ironworks scattered across the Vermillius Gap Regions.
What you’re mainly searching for are old generators or Ore Refineries. These locations often contain Complex Machinery, and you’ll usually find a bit of iron ore or flour sand alongside it.
Inside some Imperial Testing Stations
Another way to get Complex Machinery is by scouring Imperial Testing Stations. But fair warning, they’re often more trouble than they’re worth. These places are much larger than Ironworks, dungeon-like in layout, and packed with tougher enemies. So if you do head in, come prepared.
Just like with Ironworks, you’ll want to search for old machines—fabricators, generators, and refineries, all of which might contain Complex Machinery. But don’t expect to find many; they’re few and far between.
- While you’re here, you can stock up on Advanced Servoks and Particle Capacitors.
- You won’t need to worry about water, as these facilities are equipped with dispensers.
Where to buy Complex Machinery
Complex Machinery can be a pain to acquire, but thankfully, you have the option to buy it from several vendors for 500 Solari per unit. You can also check the CHOAM Exchange in both Arrakeen and Harko Village. There’s a good chance another player has listed some for sale at a more reasonable price.
