Epic's Cliff Bleszinski has noted we videogamers don't care much for these alternate worlds we often plunge ourselves into for hours on end.
The good news, as Bleszinski points out, is that if you "can't deal with 30 seconds of dialogue" in Gears of War 2 then you can just skip straight to the action once more.
"One of the problems with videogamers is that they don’t take the videogame worlds very seriously," Bleszinski tells .
"It's just like wink-wink, hey, it's a videogame – whatever, right?"
This little vent maybe a rather big simplification of the gamer mindset. Fable II isn't heavy when it comes to storytelling, like Fallout 3 for instance, but it still allows the player the choice to skip and head straight back to the fight.
"If you really can’t deal with 30 seconds of dialogue," Bleszinski added, "if it’s really that agonising for you, you can just hit the back button and Marcus will be like, 'Enough!' and you just keep going."
Are you a speech sidestepper, videogamer?
