In January of this year Blizzard's subscription count for World of Warcraft hit the 10 million mark, and despite the emergence of rival MMOs it's still swelling.
Lich King lead designer Tom Chilton reckons the release of the upcoming expansion will certainly bump the numbers again, when ever that eventually is.
"It's actually still growing," said Chilton at the Games Convention to VG247. "It's certainly not in a reverse trend, or anything like that."
With the recent release of Funcom's Age of Conan some WoW members left to partake of the new online fantasy world but Blizzard revealed that actually a lot returned.
Chilton adds that Lich King's release will "probably affect the subscription numbers," positively of course. Perhaps they'll wait till the fanfare settles a bit once Warhammer Online opens its doors officially before bombing fans with Northerend.
