It’s not that we didn’t expect an increase in Xbox 360 consoles sold after the price drop, because we did. But a 35-40% increase is…unprecedented. That is, to the inexperienced eye.
It does sound great for Microsoft, does it not? But 35-40% from how many? How many consoles went out from retailers hands after the price drop? If it’s only been a few thousand, then we’re talking about a couple hundred extra.
Undoubtedly it’s still early to know the exact numbers, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if those numbers never came around. I would be surprised if they did, and if they were actually serious, like an extra 10k units. But seeing that little extra software was purchased, it’s very doubtful.
