Epic Games, known for every game that begins with “Unreal” and little else, is officially on Steam’s growing toilet-paper-long list of developers who sell their games through the service. Not only that, they’ve got an awesome deal on 5 unreal games (Unreal Gold, Unreal 2: The Awakening, Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition, Unreal Tournament 2004: Editor’s Choice Edition, and Unreal Tournament 3).
How good of a deal? If you go and buy it now, you’ll get all 5 for just $53! Pretty sweet deal, but if you wait it’s bound to go back up to $60, which isn’t worthwhile. I mean, who buys 5 games for $60 later when you can get it for $53 now?
On a side note, it’s interesting that Epic, who’s been at the forefront of the PC Gaming Alliance, is going to Steam. It’s almost as if they’re trying to say that PC gaming is going the way of the hard drive, and lessening its use of discs in any format. It may be a bit of a push, and it’s far too early to speculate, but hey, why not.
