Sony’s games president Kax Hirai told Boomberg that the company has sold 1.2 million PlayStation 3 consoles in Europe during the last five weeks of 2007.
Hirai still believes that Sony will hit the target of 11 million PS3 units sold by March 2008: “We haven’t made any conclusion whether we have to give it up. It depends on how aggressively dealers buy our PS3 inventory.”
But other analysts predict that Sony are likely to sell close to 8 million units for the PS3 by the end of the target date.
