John Schappert, Microsoft's keynote speaker at this year’s GDC, has declared that the Xbox360 has sold over 18 million hardware units worldwide. Given the recent news of Toshiba's decision to cease HD-DVD support, effectively marking the end of the 'disc war', many have wondered Microsoft's intended response.
Schappert went on to say that they have no plans to support Blu-Ray with the Xbox360 so a drive would be unlikely anytime soon.
"What I'll say is we have nothing to comment there. We have no plans to announce or anything like that right now," said Schappert. He also went on to add that Microsoft will be funding more Xbox LIVE Arcade (XBLA) games themselves.
