The upcoming ”two big announcements” from Augusts’ edition of US PC Gamer magazine have no links to Diablo 3.
The hellish rumour started when the magazine said they have a secret that they’re ”just dying to blurt out”, fan site Blizz Planet drew up a list of ‘supporting facts’.
These circumstantial events though simply weren’t enough to sync with reality as the editor of PC Gamer announced: ”We’re officially squelching the Diablo rumour. We’ve got two big announcements coming in our August issue, but neither is from Blizzard.”
In response to Blizz Planet themselves Dan Stapleton, Senior Associate Editor of PC Gamer, said: ”Sorry to get your hopes up, but we can officially deny that Diablo is on our cover next month. We’re announcing something big and exciting and exclusive (actually, there are two big exciting exclusive announcements in this issue!), and we had to go a long way to get it, but it’s not from Blizzard.”
The tragic part of all this is how year after year the Diablo fans hopes and dreams are crushed but still they cling to flicker of optimism - it’s just barbaric!
