Europa Universalis 5 is shaping up to be one of Paradox Interactive’s most complex grand strategy games, and, whether you’re all about conquest, economics, or colonization, having a set of handy console commands and cheats to rely on when things go south can help avoid restarting entire runs as you get to grips with the game’s many systems.
Sometimes, you may get all caught up in a war, only to find that a bunch of ungrateful nobles want to overthrow you. At other times, you may find your coffers quickly emptying because a silly little cold killed a bunch of peasants in your most vital production regions. Europa Universalis 5 Console Commands and Cheats
In a similar manner to prior Clausewitz engine games like Imperator: Rome and Crusader Kings 3, Europa Universalis V’s console isn’t available by default.
To activate it on Steam, you’ll want to right-click the game in your library and left-click on Properties. Find the dialog box under the Launch Options section and add “-debug_mode” without the quotation marks.
Once you’ve followed the above steps, the EU5 console should be accessible by pressing the tilde (`) key.
