A member of the GameFaqs forum, claiming to be a Sony employee, has revealed details of the upcoming 2.4 firmware patch for the PS3.
Knight613 claims the update will provide the rumoured in-game messaging and trophy features as well as allowing users to play music during gameplay via the XMB bar. The supposed Sony employee said the update could arrive as early as next week and posted a screenshot of the trophy system and a picture of his office pass to validate his claims.
Sony has so far declined to comment, but has fueled speculation by announcing that PSN will be down tomorrow (from 4pm to 12am GMT) for ‘scheduled maintenance.’
