With the resurrection of Mega Man 9 as an 8-bit downloadable from Capcom, its success could lead to others getting the dust brushed off.
Koji Igarashi, producer of Castlevania, says he’s ”watching very closely” to see how things turn out. Could we soon see retro showing today’s punks how it’s really done?
Mega Man 9 is being developed from the ground-up and is being styled in the 8-bit days of yore. Mechanics and art assets are being brought back from the original Mega Man games from the NES.
”I’m a big retro gaming fan, so if it is successful that definitely opens up doors for what I can do,” said Igarashi, reports Game | Life. |
Capcom are bringing the game to all three platforms (Xbox360, PS3, PC) as a download as a simultaneous release.
