Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft big-wig, has revealed their devilish plans to give a Tom Clancy MMO the thumbs up now that they control the IP, and are free from royalty woes.
So what could a Clancy MMO cost the publisher I hear you wonder? Guillemot doesn't seem put off when he estimates figures between $40 and $50 million now that they can see "full return."
"Having no fees, it's going to give us a full return, so we've really decided now to go for an MMO on the Clancy name, which is big", says Guillemot during a conference call.
He's also happy to boast that Ubisoft "has the technology to create MMOs", there's not been much comment beyond Guillemot's words and no official line from the publisher.
"We have lots of games in the Clancy franchise that are already multiplayer. So to create an MMO, we need to have larger teams to actually spend the time to create it."
What kind of MMO we'll see from the Tom Clancy universe of espionage and action we don't know except to say it'll probably involve guns, and lots of them.
