Volition has confirmed that Saints Row 2, which is available on Xbox 360 and PS3 now, is being delayed till next year for its PC release.
While the game is a port it ”doesn’t mean the code can be just copied over,” packaged up and shipped out the door. Volition is working closely with the PC version devs.
”The PC version was delayed because we wanted to make the highest quality game across all platforms, but it just needed more time,” posted community moderator V-Singular.
”The PC version is still being produced and tested at Volition with support from the design and programming teams as needed. This is in no way a hands-off external port of the game.”
Apparently one area that’s caused a little bump in the road is mapping the control scheme to the mouse and keyboard, though the Xbox 360 controller for Windows will be fully supported.
