Dark Energy Digital's water-based Hydrophobia has become an episodic title which plans to release solely over the Xbox Live Arcade it seems, with three parts on the way.
They'll be released over a 12 month period with each lasting around 5 hours. If Hydrophobia proves a hit then DED will work another three. It's all about a sinking-ship and a fearful woman.
Players take the role of Kate Wilson, a woman who has an intense phobia of water. Well as her luck would have it the ship she's on happens to be sabotaged by terrorists and now the tin-can is sinking. Kate must escape the ship, which of course is flooding, to free herself.
It's said to have a Dead Space-atmosphere to it, likely it's claustrophobic environment. Hydrophobia dropped off the radar a while back but it seems to have survived. There has been no hint of a release date or if the game will see other platforms.
Fancy some Hydrophobia? Here's a debut trailer for Hydrophobia when it was with Blade Interactive.
