Although Marathon isn’t fully out yet, Bungie will likely take the servers offline to perform maintenance and deploy patches for its latest live service game. The initial rush of players curious to see how well the extraction shooter plays at launch may put a strain on the servers, which could also require a response from the developer.

Marathon’s servers are currently Online as the game launches across all platforms on March 5. The test concluded on March 2 at 10 AM PT/6 PM GMT.

When Marathon’s Server Slam ends, the servers will be taken offline for maintenance that will hopefully prepare them for the game’s official release later this week, on March 5.
While anyone could download the Server Slam client, playing Marathon after it launches requires a full purchase.
Depending on how Bungie handles things, the title’s full launch could go smoothly, but it might also follow in the footsteps of many other online games that struggle to keep up with the number of players trying to log in.
Marathon Weasel Error Code
As of March 6, 2026, Bungie is investigating reports of Marathon Weasel error codes affecting players attempting to connect to matches.
Although this appears to be a more general error, it’s no less frustrating to deal with when you’re preparing to start another round of scavenging.
