BioWare seems to have confirmed the existence of better elevator technology coming to the Mass Effect universe next year, they're "reducing" load times.
Transitioning between areas in Mass Effect were often handled by elevator rides, leaving players largely plunged into an awkward silence; BioWare has a "completely new system" now.
"We have a completely new system to handle transitions between areas that speeds the load times and turns the loads themselves into part of the game experience," said executive director Casey Hudson, speaking with MTV Multiplayer.
"It’s one of many points of feedback we’ve heard and directly responded to in enhancing the gameplay in 'Mass Effect 2'." Particularly annoying was the lift ride within the Normandy, though this mind numbing kill joy was 'fixed' in the PC version.
Let's hope the team have managed to greatly reduce texture popping, an issue which is inherent with the Unreal Engine; a Spectre can dream can't he?
