The latest and only "significant" update left this year for the PlayStation 3 has gone live, firmware 3.0 brings a lot of tweaks and revamps to the console. Not all good.
According to some PS3 gamers on the official PlayStation forum, they've experienced issues with syncing DualShock pads, mid-session freezes on Uncharted, and even PS3 Slim woe.
This wouldn't be an isolated case for Sony and the PlayStation 3 console as firmware 2.40 gave them big trouble, so much so that they pulled it and later released a revised version.
The PlayStation forum is lighting up with similar issues from more and more users, so let's hope Sony jumps on this super quick. Having games lock up is just so uncool. Worryingly even the new PS3 Slim seems to be susceptible, which is bad timing indeed.
No word from Sony yet. See the clip below to for the changes firmware 3.0 brought with it.
