While Fallout 3’s DLC troubles on Xbox 360 were down to development hiccups, the recent release of Broken Steel on PC is Microsoft’s cock-up.
Bethesda announced they were ”seeing the same error” as everyone else, that Games For Windows Live DRM had broken the downloadable content causing install problems.
”We’re seeing the same error, which is a Games for Windows Live DRM Install error,” said a Bethesda rep to VG247.
”Microsoft is working on fixing it, and we’ll let everyone know once we’ve verified it.”
To add insult to injury for Fallout 3, the Xbox 360 too was having some trouble as the servers had yet to synch up and allow the new achievements to be earned.
”The Xbox Live servers don’t seem to be fully synched yet with the additional Achievements,” they continued. ”This should fix itself automatically soon. People won’t lose any achievements.” This doesn’t make for good reading on digital distribution.
