The London Games Conference is this month on the 27th taking place at BAFTA. Notables from the videogames industry will be there to discuss topics like digital distribution.
40 percent of gaming companies are unprepared for the rate of shift to digital sales channels, and consultant Nick Parker believes 2013/14 holds the next platform launches.
”For the first time ever, the games industry has a way of alleviating the pain that traditionally befalls it during generational decline, through online gaming in its many guises – it’s a genuinely exciting time for the industry and the London Games Conference is perfectly timed to discuss these opportunities,” said Nick Parker of Parker Consulting.
Who’ll be there for the big day? Mark Gerhard from Jagex, Kristian Segerstrale from Playfish, Nick Pili from Sega, Pete Edwards from PlayStation Home and Neil Thompson from Xbox.
Parker also predicts that from 2010 onwards traditional box sales will start to fade with digital sales expected to pick up the slack, along with online gaming. The London Games Conference is part of the ELSPA supported London Games Festival.
