The videogames empire of the Disney corporation is getting bigger, and now it has added Stubbs the Zombie developer Wideload Games into its Kingdom.
The studio is helmed by ex-Bungie founder Alex Seropian. He’s now getting promoted to oversee ”creative development” of all Disney games, as the new Creative VP for Disney Interactive.
”Everybody that worked at Wideload yesterday still works at Wideload today, and will continue to,” affirms Seropian, speaking with 1UP. They’ll be sticking with original and comically themed games, and have a mutual interest in ”family-oriented multiplayer games”.
”Everybody there is really excited about this opportunity, because not only will they get to continue being Wideload, but they’ll get to continue being Wideload with the power and support of Disney.” Seropian now has responsibility of green lighting projects at Disney.
”And just in personal terms, it’s frickin’ cool, right? There’s just so much here. There’s a lot of talent here; there’s a lot of resources here. I mean, it’s Disney. So for me personally, it’s hugely exciting. This is a real stage to have a big impact,” added the Bungie founder.
Currently Disney is busy with Black Rock’s Split/Second action racing title, which looks to spice up the genre with movie-like antics on the road. See the trailer below.
