PC lover GOG.com has just been ‘invaded’ by the ”UK Super Developer Rebellion,” and they’ve left some classic goodness in their wake.
First up is Elixir Studios’ Evil Genius, which is just pure awesomeness wrapped in villainy. Second is Massive Entertainment’s Ground Control, plus expansion, for action-RTS vets out there.
”The deal with Rebellion is another proof that GOG.com is the best place for digitally distributed, DRM-free PC classics,” said Good Old Games.
”The first batch of acclaimed titles from the UK super developer include just released Evil Genius and Ground Control + Expansion, while Lords of Magic: Special Edition and Empire Earth: Gold Edition will be available in the upcoming days.”
You just can’t keep a good classic down… particularly when they’re so cheap!
Evil Genius, ”similar in many ways to the memorable Dungeon Keeper series. You are put in the role of an Evil Genius - a criminal mastermind intent on world domination. You must build your underground lair, guard it from meddling secret agents and send your minions to perform acts of infamy across the globe.” Available for a measly $9.99.
Ground Control, ”the player doesn’t have to worry about resource management, building structures or mass-producing units. Instead, the game feels more like commanding an actual hi-tech army. You have a limited number of units, which you load onto drop-ships. Then, after touching down on the LZ you have that many units available to complete your objectives.” Available for an even measlier $5.99.
You now have utterly no excuse to have not played these two great games, especially the Dungeon Keeper-like Evil Genius, which just can’t help but be doubly great.
