Xbox 360 man Aaron Greenberg has revealed that digital content is becoming ”the fastest-growing portion of our business.” NXE tripled XBLA sales.
He noted the ”silent phenomenon” among consumers is their switch to more digital distribution. Microsoft expects the trend to spiral upward as Live continues to grow.
”We’re seeing record revenues, particularly in the UK, of consumers spending money on digital content… It’s quickly become the fastest-growing portion of our business. I think that will continue to accelerate at a rapid pace,” Greenberg tells Eurogamer.
”The silent phenomenon that’s happening now for us is that consumers are starting the transition to digital distribution,” he added.
Microsoft tooted the launch of their NXE as exploding their XBLA revenues and led to a mass migration to the service with 1.5 million concurrent users at one point.
