SCEA VP Peter Dille has said publishing houses are all excited, primed for a great year for the PS3 with devs ”nowhere close” to stressing the console.
The size of your appliance matters too, thanks to Blu-ray the PS3 has the advantage says Dille. Killzone 2 clocks up 40 gigs on disc, that’s something ”you can’t do” on rival platforms.
”I would venture to say that certainly all the retail partners I met with and all the publishing partners were really fired up about the year ahead for PS3,” Dille told GameDaily.
”If you look at a game like Killzone 2, it comes in at 40 gigs on a Blu-ray disc - you can’t do that on the competition’s platform.”
”We just passed our 2nd birthday and you’re starting to see games like Killzone 2. It’s because of Blu-ray that you’re seeing games like Killzone 2. We’re wildly enthusiastic about the future and we think Blu-ray is key to that future.”
Sony is all about their size of their portion. If Microsoft had of adopted Blu-ray too, would the landscape be much different from now do you think?
