Square Enix has said a Final Fantasy XIII demo for western gamers would most likely be ”in a downloadable format,” but not a localised version of the current one.
Instead they’d release ”a completely new version,” but that’s if they were to ”provide the demo overseas,” which remains undecided. Final Fantasy XIII is almost done on PS3.
Yoshinori Kitase of Square Enix stated, ”we are thinking of providing it in a downloadable format,” speaking to Joystiq at GamesCom. However he added, ”if we were to provide the demo overseas, it would be a completely new version.”
The Xbox 360 version is about 70 percent done, with Square promising a simultaneous release on both the next-gen platforms in spring 2010 for the west. Would you want an ‘all new’ demo in English, or what the Japanese are having, but in English? Such decisions…
