While it was previously reported that Funcom and Big Stage were teaming up to bring real-life mugs of players to Age of Conan, it was wrong.
The confusion came from a competition involving the MMO and 3D ”@ctor” captures over at Big Stage’s website. The technology could have a big impact on future videogame projects nonetheless.
”…it is not currently slated for implementation into Age of Conan,” Funcom told Shacknews.
For now the technology behind the face-capture and creation of these @ctors is limited to images and videos, but Big Stage plan for them to star ”in-game soon.”
