NCsoft isn’t all that worried with the huge queues that have been reported, and that’s because it’s a scenario unlikely to be ”repeated regularly”, it’s just an ”initial rush”.
In a few days time they’ll be ”weighing the ideal time” to revise server numbers, they want to avoid going down the ”low-pop server path.” Some ”weathering of the storm” a must.
”This isn’t a scenario that’s likely to be repeated regularly since it’s really just about that initial rush of players trying to gain access to the game,” NCsoft told Eurogamer.
This comes after users have reported massive queue times, some over seven hours, in order to login and enjoy the MMO. Over 400,000 pre-orders for Aion were placed which meant the bonus of a ‘head start’ was cram packed.
”These next few days we will be calculating data and weighing the ideal time to open more servers. I think that the community will understand how important a healthily populated server in a game with PvPvE is, and that we do not want to go down the low-pop server path.”
”We have preparations in place but there is some weathering of the storm that needs to happen,” they continued. Watch out this weekend if you plan to Aion then.
”As players start to purchase the product and the initial first-day excitement calms down, I think you will see better queue times and a better play experience.”
Do you plan to get or have you already got Aion: The Tower of Eternity, videogamer?
