Resi Evil 5’s Jun Takeuchi will be producing Lost Planet 2 and they’re not going to ”sit back on our laurels and just sh*t out a sequel,” they have big plans.
Capcom’s Christian Svensson reveals”Takeuchi-san is a huge Call of Duty 4 fan”, so expect some influence ”sneaking in” but some elements will remain ”distinctly Lost Planet.”
”I’m a big Lost Planet fan myself, and I’ve seen a fair amount of the game at this point. Takeuchi-san and the team here have had numerous meetings over what went right, what went wrong on Lost Planet 1, how we can make a better game for the second,” said Svensson, Capcom vice president.
”Takeuchi’s approach was, you know what we’re not going to sit back on our laurels and just sh*t out a sequel, we’re actually going to take it up five notches. We’re not going to under invest in this, we’re actually going to over invest in this, and we’re going to build it bigger.”
”Takeuchi-san is a huge Call of Duty 4 fan and player, as is much of the team,” he explained. ”So I think you’re going to see some influence from that sneaking in.”
”At the same time there are going to be elements that are still distinctly Lost Planet. Some of those elements are things that were not universally accepted by Halo or Gears players, but they are definitely uniquely Lost Planet and I think you’ll see those returning.”
Are you a Lost Planet fan? Will a Call of Duty touch be good for the franchise?
