Codemasters’ next Operation Flashpoint has been named by UK magazine OXM, and they say it’s ”tighter, more focused” than Dragon Rising.
It’s called Red River and is due out sometime in 2011. The team behind it seem to have listened to what irked fans of Operation Flashpoint 2.
”Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising was tremendously ambitious, but struggled to deliver,” said OXM’s Jon Hicks, the editor. The Operation Flashpoint series focuses on realistic combat simulation - it’s no action movie style shooter like Call of Duty.
”So we were pleased to see that the sequel is a tighter, more focused game that’s nevertheless still striving for a more realistic recreation of warfare.” Operation Flashpoint: Red River is most likely releasing on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC next year.
