Call of Duty: Black Ops is RRP’ed at GBP 54.99/$59.99, with UK retailer GAME lobbing off just GBP 10 for console versions. Damn that 60’s Vietnam war.
Everyone was up in arms over Activision’s decision to highly price Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 but it seems that enough swallowed the horribleness of that price tag to give the publishing giant a huge Cheshire cat grin.
They know fans of the shooter series will pay these big bucks, so actually we have only ourselves to blame for being so loyal to IP - of course Modern Warfare 2 was an Infinity Ward release, and now it’s Treyarch again.
GAME has both Xbox 360 and PS3 versions for £44.99, with PC at £34.99. ”With regards to Black Ops, we haven’t confirmed any pricing details at this stage so have nothing to comment on,” said an Acti rep to CVG. So that RRP could still fall some? Unlikely.
Call of Duty: Black Ops releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC November 9th. With pricing like this, will you be sticking with your Call of Duty guns? The cheapest appears to be the PC version but that’s still dang high as most now go for £24.99 on PC.
