SyFy's Red Faction movie now debuts May 2011 alongside game

THQ’s core games boss Danny Bilson has announced that the TV network Red Faction flick from SyFy won’t be out in March but two months later instead.

That means it will release along with Red Faction: Armageddon, the latest entry in the videogame series, which is set two generations after Guerrilla.

”Red Faction SyFi movie started prep this week! Shoot starts in January…airs in May with game release. More to come….” twittered THQ’s Danny Bilson. The movie is called ‘Red Faction: Origins’. In Armageddon we play as the grandson of Alec Mason.

Mars has thoroughly gone to hell after Mason repelled the oppressive regime of Earth, but that also screwed up the planet’s terraformation. The Martians now must live back underground only something ancient has woken up and needs sorting out.

Red Faction: Armageddon releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in May 2011.
