Sony Japan boss Hiroshi Kawano called it a ”bold prediction”, and that they ”deeply respect” him. Hopes he sticks with the platforms.
“In the near future, we’ll have games that don’t depend on any platform,” said Kojima-san, during a press event for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker in Japan, reports VG247.
“Gamers should be able to take the experience with them in their living rooms, on the go, when they travel — wherever they are and whenever they want to play. It should be the same software and the same experience.” Peace Walker releases only for PSP.
”We hope he continues to develop for platforms, but we deeply respect his sense of taking on a challenge,” said SCEJ boss Hiroshi Kawano. It was also announced that a new partnership between Kojima and Capcom adds a bonus mode to the PSP title.
MGS: Peace Walker will feature some Monster Hunter. It releases April 29th in Japan, June 11th in the US and on June 18th in Europe. Will consoles become obsolete?
