NBC Universal owns both SyFy Channel and part of Bigpoint so there’s no obstacle. The MMO is to use the cross-platform Unity engine.
”We believe in the value of IP, and the second thing that we believe in is cross-platform,” says Bigpoint’s Nils-Holger Henning, reports Gamasutra. They currently operate 30 free-to-play games with 340 developers employed in Hamburg, Germany.
Their gaming network currently enjoys 110 million registered users. Their mission statement says that ”all games must be browser-based without download installation, games you can play from any device you want.” Battlestar Galactic will be the same.
