E3 2010: 2K's XCOM reboot is confirmed to release in 2011

No specific date was attributed to the reboot of XCOM when 2K unveiled it back in April, but now they want it known that next year is their target.

This new XCOM title is to be a first-person shooter for Xbox 360 and PC. It ditches the turn-based strategy formula of the veteran PC franchise.

We play as an FBI agent tasked with ”identifying and eliminating” the alien threat that could make humanity extinct if we don’t develop bigger and smarter weapons to kick their rears with around the globe.

XCOM will be present at 2K’s event next in week during E3, reports IGN.
