Jon Shiring and Mackey McCandlish are the latest to leave the Call of Duty studio, a programmer and designer respectively. More?
Shiring has spent the last 6 years with the development studio and McCandlish eight. They have followed software engineer Francesco Gigliotti and lead designer Todd Alderman, of seven and eight years at the firm.
It looks like confidence in Infinity Ward is slipping away ever since Jason West and Vincent Zampella were fired by the publishing giant. Where these latest devs to quit are off to next is unknown, but they could be signing up with Respawn Entertainment, the newly formed studio from West and Zampella who have partnered up with rival EA.
Can we expect more to jump ship? Activision has responded saying they aren’t grief stricken because ”a deep bench of proven talent” still resides at the studio with the team ready to start work on ”exciting new projects”, reports Gamasutra.
”This agreement comes as no surprise to Activision given the myriad of improper activities detailed in the cross-complaint filed on Friday against Jason West and Vince Zampella,” Acti added, speaking of the new Respawn studio in cahoots with EA.
