They’re ”realigning” resources at their San Diego digs, says studio boss Steve Martin, to ensure an ‘effect future’. No ”sequel to Red Dead” news.
”As is typical with game development, our team sizes have always fluctuated over the course of the development cycle,” said studio manager Martin, reports VG247.
”As Rockstar San Diego transitions from the launch of Red Dead Redemption onto future projects, we are realigning our resources in order to continue to develop games as effectively as possible.” This is an unfortunate occurrence within our industry.
”We are ensuring that all employees who are affected by these changes are being treated with care. While we have no announcements to make regarding a sequel to Red Dead Redemption, the team here are hard at work on the development of downloadable content for the game,” he continued.
So far Rockstar Games is ruling out a PC Red Dead Redemption, but then again they did that for all major Grand Theft Autos but they eventually made their way over. That even included the tongue-in-cheek Bully, a schoolyard GTA if you will.
Do you hope Red Dead stays a major franchise for Rockstar developers?
