The studio believes it’ll be ”a slow-burner” because ModNation Racers and Split/Second dogged its release window. It’s ”very popular” with fans.
”To be honest with you, I think it was a very busy time for racing games,” Bizarre Creations’ Nick Davies told GamerZines in an interview. ”It came out at the same time as ModNation Racers and Split/Second.”
”It rates incredibly highly and it’s a very popular game, and I think it’s going to be a slow-burner. I think the multiplayer will stay for a long time and I think people will come back to that time and time again, long after some of the other games have gone back to the second-hand shelf.” It’s thought of as a modern day ‘Mario Kart’ - which is great, frankly.
”Blur’s a fantastic game, and it’s the start of a big franchise for Bizarre,” added Davies. There’s no word on a Blur 2 just yet however, but the studio has definite plans to revisit their newest creation. ”That’s the plan, yeah.”
”I don’t work on the Blur team specifically so I can’t speak for them, but it’s always been the plan to make the number one racing franchise. That’s as much as I can say!”
Blur is available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Check out our wheel spinning review of Blur, which we said has ”one of a kind” online multiplayer.
