Wrong! Attempting to play these early bird titles will render you ”temporarily unable to access Xbox Live.” They need an update which isn’t up yet.
What happens is a request to update your dashboard and most likely you’d never give it a second thought and happily give it the green light. Unfortunately this is the worst thing to do as once the ‘update’ is done you can no longer get Xbox Live connected.
It will attempt to get another update but it will always fail. Kinect officially launches November 4th in the US and on the 10th in the UK. It should be the 4th of next month that the true update for the new dashboard goes up for download.
”Due to a retailer error, a very small number of customers were shipped copies of a Kinect game ahead of launch,” said Microsoft in a statement.
”Since Kinect does not launch until Nov. 4 in the United States, customers who insert the game into their console before then will be temporarily unable to access Xbox LIVE. The retailer is contacting affected individuals directly to warn them of this situation.”
That’ll learn ya for getting something before the predetermined time as decreed by a sprawling corporate giant and their all encompassing marketing department.
