Could this mean a slick looking 2D RPG from Obsidian? They want someone who’s worked on a shipped console title, and with ”mobile or browser” know-how.
”Obsidian Entertainment is looking for a 2D character animator to work on a highly stylized, high profile role playing game,” says the official job offer on the Obsidian site.
”Must be able to animate characters in 2D and manage scenes and assets efficiently”, is one of the stated requirements for the post, along with: ”Previous experience on mobile or browser based Flash applications or games” noted as a ‘plus’.
This may not be some exclusive 2D RPG but possibly a mini-game of sorts or a social networked offshoot of Dungeon Siege? Obsidian are known for following in BioWare’s RPG footsteps and the EA owned studio has brought 2D Dragon Age to browsers.
Dungeon Siege III releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC June 17th. Last year the studio’s releases included Fallout: New Vegas and Alpha Protocol.
