Funcom: No release date for The Secret World

Funcom has told Strategy Informer that the Montreal Gazette was mistaken in stating the modern day occult-themed MMO The Secret World will be released in a few months, which Strategy Informer reported earlier.

In a letter sent to us from Funcom PR manager Erling Ellingsen:

All well here, hope you are too!

I think this stems from an article in the Montreal Gazette that just came up.

This must have been based on a misquote or a misunderstanding of some sort. We have never communicated a release date for The Secret World.

There you have it. This is somewhat disappointing because The Secret World breaks some new ground with its modern setting and Lovecraftian/occult themes.
