E3 2011: Willits says Carmack 'most important guy' in industry

Rage creative director Tim Willits when asked who was the most important figure in the games industry declared it was none other than id’s John Carmack.

He was bold enough to add if ”anyone tells you someone else, they’re lying.” It’s nothing to do with corporate allegiance, but ‘fact’. Rage ”id’s best game.”

Asked at E3 who was the most important, Willitis answered without hesitation: ”John Carmack. If anyone tells you someone else, they’re lying.” The creative director for id’s Rage is also sure the shooter and racer is their best effort to date.

”I’ll be honest with you it’s exciting. It’s different from Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein. It has so much to offer, it’s really id’s best game,” said Willits. Rage has been doing the rounds at E3 2011 with plenty of gameplay footage now out.

Rage releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC September 13th in the US, 16th in Europe.
