Ten million units have been sold to customers since its launch according to the Guinness Book of Records, making the Kinect motion controller the fastest-selling consumer electronics device in history, making good on Microsoft’s boast that Kinect would be the biggest hardware launch ever.
In the first two months of the device’s launch, it had sold eight million units, averaging 133,333 per day. ”The sales figures here speak for themselves,” said Guinness World Records Gaming Editor Gaz Deaves. ”According to independent research, no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, which is an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector.”
Considering Kinect can literally see you, is this the beginning of the robot holocaust, in which an electronic Big Brother is watching every move you make?
Beware.
Those people aren’t dancing - they’re running away in terror as Kinect takes over their lives.
