While Croteam is busy developing Serious Sam 3 for PC, three indie developers have been given the go ahead to make their own Serious Sam adventures. There's a side-scrolling shooter, one where you're the enemy, and lastly a turn-based RPG from Mommy's Best Games, Be-Rad Entertainment and Vlambeer. Serious Sam: Double D is from Mommy's Best Games and it's a "frantic side-scrolling shooter" for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC with hand drawn artwork. Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack is from Be-Rad Entertainment and has us play as the bad guys as we guide our "fearless group of Headless Kamikazes across the battlefield, dodging hazards and pitfalls while avoiding oncoming fire from the deplorable Serious Sam." It's for Smartphones. Serious Sam: The Random Encounter comes from Vlambeer and it's a turn-based RPG for unannounced platforms. "Arm your squad to the teeth with massive ordinance, throw down some special items and take aim at the hordes of charging enemies holding that sweet, sweet loot you crave so badly," goes the official blurb. Release dates are expected over the coming months. |
