Konami’s waterlogged survival horror game, Silent Hill: Downpour, has been delayed. The new release window is sometime between January and March of 2012. The game was originally due to be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in November.
Downpour, which is being developed by Czech-based Vatra, is the eighth game in the popular series. The game follows Murphy Pendleton, a convict with a murky past who finds himself in the iconic town of Silent Hill after his transport bus crashes while taking him to prison. The game’s major theme, as the title implies, is water, as Murphy encounters strange sights such as water running uphill within buildings from the floor to the ceiling.
In related news, Konami has stated that Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is not delayed, since it has no scheduled release date in the first place. The game was purportedly due to be released in Q2 2012 in Europe.
