Driver: San Francisco has already earned PC gamer ire for revealing no offline play is possible as it uses Ubisoft’s ‘always-on’ DRM to fight software piracy.
The Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo Wii versions will continue to release in early September but PC will have to wait until the end of next month.
Ubisoft say their PC DRM has caused ”a clear reduction in piracy of our titles which required a persistent online connection, and from that point of view the requirement is a success”. If you’ve not got a solid Internet connection for PC then don’t bother getting it.
Will Ubisoft delay PC Assassin’s Creed: Revelations as well?
