$15 gets you beta access and all its updates, a private beta site, and a free copy of the game. If you ”pay what you want” above $50 you get in the game credits.
”I’ve finally solidified my plan for the Early-Access Beta pricing,” posted Chris hecker on his SpyParty blog. You can pay the fixed $15, which is likely what it will cost when releasing on XBLA, PSN and PC. Alternatively you can give as much as you want.
”Your $15 gets you access to the beta SpyParty and all the updates during the beta, access to the private beta website, which includes forums for announcements, finding games, and discussing strategies, and eventually a bug/feature tracking system,” he said.
”You’ll also get the game for free when it releases on PC. I can’t say for certain right now, but I’m pretty confident I’ll be able to give you a key for activating it on Steam or your digital distribution platform of choice.”
If you cough up over $50: ”…I am planning on putting everybody who contributes $50 or more in the game credits. There aren’t going to be any credits in the game until it ships, so again, this is not going to create a two-class system during beta testing.”
SpyParty is an ”asymmetric multiplayer espionage game” where agents attempt to blend in to a party with NPC guests while opponent snipers try to figure out who shouldn’t be there. It requires careful observation and subtley in this unique indie game.
