THQ has closed New York-based developer Kaos Studios, which worked on the financially disastrous Homefront. The publisher then announced that the franchise would continue with Homefront 2, developed by its new Montreal studio.
However, with the 100 jobs in jeopardy at Kaos, the THQ Montreal studio will be hiring 400, so it’s possible a good number of them will simply be offered to relocate. Montreal is a scant 370 miles away from New York, after all.
That said, it’s curious that THQ would hang onto Homefront, a game that received less-than-stellar reviews and far undersold what they were expecting.
