Battlefield 3’s preorder bonus “Physical Warfare” pack is now available as free downloadable content for PlayStation 3 users, with PC and Xbox 360 users getting the pack free ”at a later date”, chiefly due to the licensing agreement with Sony.
The DLC pack features instant access to the DAO-12 shotgun, which normally must be unlocked, a custom flechette ammo for the DAO-12, a flash suppressor for the SKS sniper rifle, and the Type 88 Light Machine Gun.
The pack caused a controversy at launch, as gamers claimed that the pack gave an unfair advantage to preorder customers.
