E3 2011 has jut finished, although you’ll be pleased to know that there’s already something to look forward to when it comes to E3 2012. THQ core games chief Danny Bilson’s said that Warhammer 40k MMO Dark Millennium will be playable next year.
”Next year, I promise you, next E3,” said Bilson in an interview with Eurogamer. ”I’ve already got plans for what the booth is like. The centrepiece of the booth will be that MMO.”
Developed by Vigil Games, players will be able to choose from a number of playable races in Dark Millennium Online. Not much is known about the game, but Bilson did disclose a few details along with a release window between April 2012 and March 2013.
”We’re going to come out when we come out in a big way. I feel like we’re fully competitive with the other guys,” he said.
”It’ll be seven years in the making when it comes out. We’re competing with the best games in the world. You can’t mess around with this thing.
“We’re competing with two of the biggest brands in the world: World of Warcraft and Star Wars. We have to be really good to get people to want to play it. We will be really good.”
Personally, I’ve not been one to dedicated a lot of my time to MMO’s, but I do like the sound of a Warhammer 40k one, especially if it’s going to be a rich experience. The big question is, can THQ and Vigil Games deliver?
