The Riddler won’t be behind the scenes in Batman: Arkham City as he was in the first game. This time, he’s front and center, and not only are his Riddler Challenges more involved, but the character is more involved in the story as well.
You can actually view him this time, as he resides in his surveillance station, which located inside a Sionis Industries warehouse. You can see guards being bound, tortured and possibly killed in his large bank of television monitors.
Not only is he more involved, but he’s also darker, edgier and crazier than in the first game. His clothes are disheveled, and you defeat of him in the first game has sent him into a psychotic rage. Tellingly, Oracle is no longer your dispatcher - she’s disappeared, and Alfred has taken her place in an emergency substitution. It’s strongly hinted that the Riddler is responsible.
